If you are suffering with skin problems having taken diet pills, but don’t want to stop taking given their undoubted effectiveness, there are options to keep your skin – which is often inexorably linked to self confidence and the ensuing anxiety if you lack it, which can then have a knock-on effect on your slimming efforts.

Go Natural
Your first step to keeping your skin in good order is to make sure that what you’re putting in your body and on your skin is as healthy as possible. Ensure that you have a healthy diet and avoid junk food which is terrible for your skin. When it comes to lotions and potions, make sure you’re using natural (preferably organic) products. Particularly with oils, using olive or coconut oil based products will help benefit your skin far more than readily available and potentially harmful mineral oils. Always check the label.


Focus On Rehydration
As a background rule, staying hydrated is important for all aspects of your wellbeing. Not drinking enough water will leave you obviously dehydrated and affect your skin as a knock-on effect of the stress and internal issues you’ll likely face. However, you might be surprised to learn that, generally speaking, drinking water doesn’t affect skin. So what do we mean by staying hydrated?

Essentially, you want to use products that either easily provide water to your skin, or enhance the rate at which your skin absorbs that water, such as hylauronic acid products.

Mitigating The Sun
The number one cause of skin damage is the sun and its UV rays. Simple. Ideally, you’d want to keep your skin out of the sun in order to prevent any damage from occurring – this is, of course, not feasible, and would deprive you of the important vitamin D. The answer for this one is simple – use the appropriate SPF for wherever you are (remember, you’ll need different levels of SPF for different places around the world). Lots of moisturisers now contain SPF, though it’s important to check the reviews online to make sure it’s a good product and has proven protectiveness against the sun.

Keeping your skin hydrated takes a little more nous than just drinking water and getting it washed every now and then (though that is important). With a bit of knowledge you can keep your skin hydrated and supple whilst maintaining the lifestyle you’d like.
